Kirkland IPA has a light malt profile and is loaded with hop aromas and flavors from four different hop varieties – Amarillo, Cascade, Centennial, and Citra. The beer is sold in Costco stores under the Kirkland label in 12-packs of 12-ounce cans at a fraction of the price relative to other craft beers. It is brewed by a third-party brewery, Goose Island Beer Company, which has licensing rights to produce Kirkland IPA for Costco. Kirkland IPA is a brand of hoppy India Pale Ale produced by Costco that is offered exclusively to Costco members. The result is a smooth, lightly-hopped,sessionable IPA that packs in the flavor without overwhelming the palate. The beer is fermented with a traditional ale yeast and then dry-hopped for a hint of extra hop character. It features traditional Pacific Northwest hop varieties and is hopped five times throughout the brewing process, lending a nice citrus aroma. This particular IPA is brewed in 15-barrel batches, making it one of the most popular craft beers produced by Redhook. This brewery is actually a part of the Poterworks family, a craft beer partnership between Redhook and Anheuser-Busch InBev.
